About us
About Ventura ADU Specialists
A licensed Ventura County construction company that designs, permits and builds accessory dwelling units.
Who we are
Ventura ADU Specialists is a Legacy Construction Group, Inc. company, operating under California Contractor License No. 1037017 from an office at 2734 Johnson Drive, Suite 203 in Ventura.
We work on accessory dwelling units across Ventura County and the communities around it: detached units, attached units, garage conversions and Junior ADUs.
Why we do only this
Plenty of good general contractors will build you an ADU. What is harder to find is one company that will research your parcel, draw the plans, carry them through your jurisdiction's plan check, and then build the thing, without handing the project between three companies who each blame the other when something does not line up.
That hand-off is where most ADU projects stall, and it is the specific problem this company was set up to remove.
One company. One point of contact. One team responsible for the plans, the permitting and the construction.
What we handle
- Property and zoning research before any design work begins
- ADU design, construction documents and coordination of required engineering
- Permitting, plan check responses and agency coordination
- Construction, inspections and final sign-off
- Projects where a homeowner only needs plans and permits
- Projects where a homeowner already has approved plans and needs a licensed builder
How to check us out
Before you sign a contract with us, or with anyone, look up the license. The California Contractors State License Board publishes license status, classification, bonding and workers compensation information for every licensed contractor in the state, and it is free to search.

What we will not do
- Tell you your property qualifies before we have looked at it.
- Give you a permit timeline we cannot support.
- Build your budget around a state or local grant program that is not currently available.
- Quote a fixed price on a project nobody has surveyed.
